The Recycled Bottle Glass Centre Limited was incorporated as a community business in April 1997.

The founder member John Barrett works with adults with disabilities through Social Services. He is also an Adult Education tutor in stained glass at various Community Colleges in Devon and Cornwall.

It was while working as a stained glass artist that John discovered the process of recycling bottles into coloured flat sheets.

The efficiency of the recycling process and the production capability was subsequently improved, after new equipment was acquired with aid from grant funding.

The demand for the recycled glass and associated products continues to expand and the Centre also provides training and guidance to organisations, groups and individuals in all aspects of glass crafting.
